Launch Day!

I woke up in a panic this morning. Today was the day, the official day that I would read part of my book for real people for the first time. I would be able to talk about what this novel means to me. It’s great isn’t it?

It is great. It’s amazing, surreal even. I’m not sure how to feel or act. I’m trying to go about my day, but my stomach is in knots. The early feedback has been really positive, and other people are getting excited about meeting Ben, Nate, Ellie, and Ms. B. Robots and adventure, yes, I think I did something right.

Someone asked me last night about my audience and who I’m writing for. While I write for a lot of people, myself included, the audience I am most excited about are my middle grade readers. I want them to be transported, inspired, and maybe just like reading a little bit more.

Photos started coming in yesterday of people receiving their preorder copies of Shipshape. Here we go. Ready, set, launch!
